As of April 3, 2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. This project is expected to bid through a design-build proposal. Construction is estimated to take place in 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Pursuant to 2 C.F.R. 200.320(b)(2), Brunswick County is requesting qualifications statements from qualified engineering, environmental, and water resource firms for the services associated with development of a Preliminary Engineering Report to determine the necessary water infrastructure improvements and the order in which they should be made to alleviate reduced pressure concerns within the Town of St. James during seasonal peak demand times. Improvements may include, without limitation, an elevated water storage tank in the St. James/Middleton Road area, additional transmission water mains, additional small diameter water mains within the Town to address localized areas of low pressure, the addition of hydrants, and pressure sustaining valves installed on the existing 24" potable water main on Highway 211. A more detailed description of the work to be performed is contained in the enclosed Scope of Work. Firms submitting qualification statements should use the enclosed Scope of Work as a guide but may develop their own scope based upon their experiences on similar projects. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
