The City will not be responsible for oral interpretation of the specifications and drawings. The Artesia Boulevard Intersection Safety Improvements Project will perform traffic signal upgrades at seven (7) signalized intersections (6 controllers) along Artesia Boulevard. Project will replace outdated signal equipment such as signal controllers, video detection systems, signal backplates, street name signs, street lights, left-turn signals, pedestrian push buttons, and pedestrian signal heads. Project will implement flashing yellow arrow left-turns and LPI phasing with LA County. Project will replace several signal heads at Artesia/Aviation Way. Project will also modify left-turn pocket medians at Artesia/Rindge to improve visibility. Project will be completed in one phase. The work shall include all permitting, mobilization, coordination, traffic control, demolition, excavation, installation, etc. required to complete the work shown in the contract document. The project contract shall be completed and facility shall be made ready for service within 90 working days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. If the Project includes the construction of a pipeline, sewer, sewage disposal system, boring and jacking pits, or similar trenches or open excavations, which are five feet or deeper, the bid shall contain, as part of the lump sum bid package, adequate sheeting, shoring, and bracing, or equivalent method, for the protection of life or limb, which shall conform to all applicable safety laws, rules, regulations and orders Each bidder shall submit with his proposal a bidder's bond for not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid A Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to One Hundred percent (100%) A Payment Bond (Labor and Material) in an amount equal to One Hundred percent (100%) A Maintenance Bond in an amount equal to Ten percent (10%) of the total contract price The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical defects, as the interest of the City may require. Award of contract or rejection of bid proposals will be made by the City within 90 calendar days following the bid opening.
