PLEASE NOTE: The estimated value listed for this project is for searchability purposes only and does not reflect the actual construction budget as determined by the owner. It should not be used for estimation purposes at this time. Work includes, but is not limited to, interior building renovations to the existing Perry County Jail for new Housing Unit Isolation Cells, coordination of the entire project, and all related work required for project completion, as indicated on the Bid and Contract Documents. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the Office of the Architect. Other sets for general contractors, and sets for subs and dealers, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. Partial sets will not be available. To expedite distribution of bid documents email requests with a copy of the deposit check(s) referencing this project to Rachel.Mayer@gmcnetwork.com. Hard copy deposit checks referencing this project should be mailed to Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC; Attn: Rachel Mayer; PO Box 242128; Montgomery, AL 36124; Fax No.: (334) 272-1566. Certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner, for not less than five percent (5%) of amount of bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), must accompany each proposal. Workmens Compensation, extended fire and tornado insurance, public liability and property damage insurance and Builders Risk insurance will be required. Insurance in compliance with requirements will be required at the signing of the Contract. The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance and payment bonds or an irrevocable "Letter of Credit" which is acceptable to the Owner. All bonds and letters of credit shall be for 100% of the contract price. Attention of Bidders is called to the license required by Title 34, Chapter 8, of the code of Alabama, 1975, and amendments thereto, relating to the licensing of General Contractors. No bid will be accepted from anyone, except a qualified Contractor, licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, unless otherwise required by the State Licensing Board. AIA General Conditions, AIA Document A-201 "General Conditions of Contract for Construction", 1997 Edition, issued by the American Institute of Architects is part of the specifications for this project, except as modified by the Project Manual. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must show such evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by Architect or Owner; The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered; Bidder must also include their current license number on the Proposal Form. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of SIXTY (60) days. This project is being funded in part by CDBG Project No.: CV-NC-20-048. ADECA requires all entities participating in federally funded projects to be registered in SAM (System for Award Management). Prospective bidders must provide proof of Active SAM status with their bid. All bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Number 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex or national origin. All bidders must comply with title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act and the Contract Workhours Act. The attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Section 109 and E.O. 11246 Additional qualifications and requirements for General Contractor Bidders and separate Subcontractors and Manufacturers are indicated in the Bid and Contract Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in their judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
