Renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Whitesboro, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.
Deadline to Submit Questions (in writing): July 29, 2022 sealed bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of the roof on the Town of Whitestown Salt Storage Building, located at the Town of Whitestown Highway Department, will be received. Any and all deviations (or equivalences) from the Town's specifications must be separately identified and listed on an attachment submitted together with a bid. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and must include the name, address and signature of the bidder. All bids must be accompanied by certificates of insurance naming the Town of Whitestown as an Additional Insured, pursuant to Section 103- d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York. A contract will be awarded by the Town Board to the lowest responsible bidder. In the event two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids, the Town Board may award the contract to any of such bidders. Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, the Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and any informality in any bid. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Remove sky light panels and infill areas with like-size plywood; Remove shingle roofing, including underlayment, from the entire building’s roof; Remove all remaining roofing nails and staples from roof decking; Install white galvanized steel Type D perimeter drip edge; Install synthetic roofing underlayment directly to roof decking; Install 2’ wide minimum aluminum flashing at all valleys (centered on valley); Install new architectural shingles to all areas removed. Shingles have to be a minimum 30-year manufacturer’s warranty (color to be selected by Owner); Install new shingles over vented ridge system on roof peak; Remove rotted areas of T1-11 and replace. For proposal submission, bidders are to assume 320 square feet of siding to be removed and replaced; Install new aluminum flashing between shingled roof surface and angled truck entrance sidewalls where T1-11 gets replaced; Install new aluminum “Z” flashing between rows of replaced T1-11 siding; Replace corner trim boards on truck entrance area. Replace with pressure-treated 1x6 boards, caulked watertight; Nail or screw loose T1-11 areas using galvanized or coated exterior fasteners; Properly clean-up and dispose of roofing and siding debris. Entire area shall be swept with a clean-up magnetic sweeper at the end of each day of shingle and siding removal/cleanup, and again at the end of the project; and Re-stain the entire building (color to be selected by Owner).
