Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Clarkston, Washington. Completed plans call for the construction of a 53,000-square-foot detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Asotin County is requesting proposals for the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) for the above project using the procedure permitted under Chapter 39.10 of the RCW, as amended, for public works contracting in lieu of sealed bids. The project consists of new construction of up to 53,000sf and is to include 90-120 secure jail beds, booking, laundry, sallyport, medical/infirmary, jail administration and support spaces. The rough pad grading is complete but will also include necessary utilities and potential street improvements. The project construction budget is approximately $11.4 million. We are anticipating, with input from the selected GC/CM, construction will begin as early as February of 2023. Design phase activities include involvement of General Contractor/Construction Manager to: (1) assist in development of schedules, cost estimates, value analysis, quality and phasing the work effort well before construction can start and provide added assurance that the project will be completed on time, and (2) be involved heavily in the design stage of the project to provide services to address constructability, sub-bid contracting strategies, and cost savings alternatives. The Request for Proposal outlines the information necessary to understand this selection process and the documentation required for submitting proposals The RFP name and submittal date must appear on the outside of all proposals submitted. Any firm failing to submit its proposal in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Request for Proposal may be considered non-responsive.Questions should be addressed to David Beaudine, CBRE/Heery via e-mail (David.Beaudine@cbre.com). The County will not accept proposals from firms that did not attend the mandatory pre-proposal conference. Asotin County encourages the participation of Minority Owned and Women Owned Business Enterprises in this Request for Proposal.
