Coweta County, Georgia Newnan Utilities (Owner) is soliciting Pre-Qualification from experienced Contractors that are interested in providing the required materials, labor, tools, and equipment for the work necessary to construct the spillway replacement associated with the Newnan Utilities Reservoir Number 1 Dam. All requests for a copy of the Invitation for Pre-qualification of Bidders requirements, and all questions regarding the invitation, should be submitted in writing to Brett W. Dodd, PE, Schnabel Engineering, LLC by e-mail at bdodd@schnabel-eng.com. The project generally consists of the following: Demolition of existing concrete spillway Construction of a reinforced-concrete chute spillway Installation of an Obermeyer hinged crest gate Construction of drainage system beneath the chute spillway Identifying, hauling, placing, and compacting structural fill Implementing and managing erosion, sedimentation, and pollution control Implementing and managing surface and ground water control measures Permanent stabilization of disturbed areas PRE-QUALIFICATION of Bidders for this project is required by the Owner. Only those Contractors that can demonstrate to the Owner and Engineer (Schnabel Engineering, LLC) that they have the experience and financial capability to successfully perform the work will be considered qualified to bid on the project. In order for the Owner and the Engineer to determine whether or not a Contractor is qualified to bid on the work, information described in the Invitation for Pre-Qualification of Bidders must be submitted by the date specified. The Owner intends to award a single contract for all work required on the project. Solicitation of bids for the project is anticipated to occur in Fall 2022. Only Those Contractors That the Owner Determines to Be Qualified to Perform the Work Through the Pre-qualification Process Will Be Invited to Submit a Bid for the Proposed Project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, to waive technicalities, and to make a decision deemed in their best interest.
