The MDOT SHA hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/ disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, genetic information or disability in consideration for an award. Number: N/A This project is for the maintenance and preservation of environmental assets in Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot Counties, including the MDOT SHA Denton and Easton Maintenance Shops (Districts 1 & 2). Environmental assets include landscape planting beds and tree pits, turf areas, wetlands and stream sites. This work involves the completion of various management activities on a regular schedule in accordance with the contract documents. Management of Landscape Areas activities include pruning and foliage removal of perennials, ornamental grasses, bulbs, and flower stalks; weed control within landscape planting beds and tree pits; and litter and debris removal within the limits of the managed areas. Management of Turf Areas activities include mowing; trimming; litter and debris removal; and related work within the limits of the managed areas. Minimum wage rates, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon latest the blank electronic proposal form (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least 5 percent (5%) of the total amount bid, unless otherwise stated in the IFB. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00, unless otherwise stated in the IFB. The MDOT SHA reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
