The Department is developing an emergency project: CONTRACT ID: ER122, UPN: 10329000, ER 9034(49) - RR BRIDGE REMOVAL - LIVINGSTON to address the declared emergency. The railroad bridge upstream of US-89 (P-59) was damaged during spring flooding in 2022. The railroad bridge over the Yellowstone River has been deemed an imminent threat to human health and safety. One of the bridge piers has been undermined by scour. At this time, failure of the railroad structure appears imminent, and removal is necessary to protect the US-89 bridge and the public. This project is located in Park County approximately 6 miles northeast of Livingston. Work will include bridge removal, pier removal, and temporary rip rap placement. The project will have a reduced advertisement period, accelerated award, and expedited NTP. MDT will issue a Design Build Request for Qualifications/Request for Proposal for the Emergency Relief (ER) project - Red Lodge Area Flood Repairs. The project will include reconstruction work on Broadway Avenue (US-212, RP 68.50 - 69.30) to repair flood damage from Rock Creek. Work will include bank stabilization activities and restoration of retaining walls, roadways, sidewalks, curb & gutter, guardrail, storm drains, signs, and other miscellaneous damaged roadway features.
