The work shall include all trenching, excavation, backfill, compaction and plumbing work necessary for the installation of the water distribution system and service/supply lines, and all other related appurtenances to ensure a fully operational system. The terms Government, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and USACE will be used interchangeable in this document. EXISTING WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM: The existing USACE water distribution system shall be abandoned in place. Existing valve boxes shall be removed once the new system has been placed into service. The resulting voids shall be backfilled and compacted. NEW WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM: The Contractor shall provide all labor, transportation, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and other associated appurtenances necessary to provide a complete and fully functional water distribution system and service lines. All materials and supplies shall be new and unused products. The location of the new water system shown on the attached drawings are approximate locations and shall be field verified by the Contractor. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
