The work, in general, to be done under this contract consists of, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing; traffic control; removal and replacement of existing storm drain pipes; ditch and culvert rehabilitation; pulverization of existing asphalt concrete; full depth reclamation with cement; hot mix asphalt paving; removal and replacement of AC dike; and placing thermoplastic striping and markings. All work shall include furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, incidentals, and manufactured articles necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans, as described in the Special Provisions, or as directed by the Engineer. All in conformance with the State of California, Department of Transportation 2018 Standard Specification and Standard Plans, Butte County Standard Details, and these Special Provisions. All questions must be submitted via electronically, no questions will be accepted after August 11, 2022 4:00pm All Proposal PF pages contained within the project Specifications booklet must be included in the bid submittal. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond. No Pre-bid meeting is scheduled for this project. Contract items of work and quantities thereof for which payment will be made under this contract are contained in the proposal. The items of work and quantities are given as a basis for the comparison of bids and the County of Butte does not, expressly or by implication, agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith, but reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of any class or portion of the work, or to omit portions of the work, as may be deemed necessary or advisable by the Engineer Each proposal must be accompanied by a Bidder's Security of at least ten-percent (10%) of the total amount bid. The Security may be in the form of a Bidder's Bond, a certified check or a cashier's check payable to the County of Butte. State Prevailing Wages are required on this contract. If there is a difference between the minimum wage rates predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and prevailing wage rates determined by the Department of Industrial Relations for similar classifications of labor, the Contractor and his subcontractors shall pay no less than the higher wage rate. This includes "helper" (or other classifications based on hours of experience) or any other classification not appearing in the Federal wage determinations. Where Federal wage determinations do not contain the State wage rate determination otherwise available for use by the Contractor and subcontractors, the Contractor and subcontractors shall pay not less than the Federal minimum wage rate, which most closely approximates the duties of the employees in question. The County of Butte reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid.
