Since the original structure appears to be functioning as designed, the limits of this scope of work is limited to the support of the proposed modifications to the structure including: 2. New Air Handling Units (AHU) on the existing roof structure a. The new loads from AHUs to be located on the roof were analyzed and reinforcement was determined to be required to support the anticipated loads. The affected joists were analyzed using the current ground snow load of 50 PSF. Roof framing not directly supporting the units were not analyzed. 3. New windows on North Elevation a. New windows are proposed to provide more natural light into the existing workspace. This will require some structural modifications to the existing structural steel wall framing and additional steel framing; however, these windows are not anticipated to affect the existing lateral force resisting system 4. New Canopies outside Man-doors a. New canopies are proposed outside existing man-doors on the north elevation of the building. Canopies are to be designed utilizing steel tube framing. Replacement of the existing slab outside the man-doors to support the canopies and relocation/replacement of existing bollards are required. 5. Bid Option 001 - New Skylights a. New skylights are proposed to provide more natural light into the existing workspace. A new steel frame/curb was designed to support the skylight and provide bracing to the joists removed per the removal of the existing metal deck. 6. Bid Option 002 - New Overhead Crane System a. A new electric overhead 7.5 ton capacity crane system is proposed at the south end of the 'Pit' area. A steel support system with new foundations were designed and clearance and other dimensional requirements provided for contractor procurement of bridge crane. 7. Bid Option 003 - New Modular Green Roof System a. Per the loading information on the existing plans and confirmation from TYAD representatives, the roof was not previously analyzed with the existing green roof loads. Per an analysis, it was determined that the extents of the existing green roof along with the required 50 PSF ground snow load would require reinforcing all joists. A layout of extents of the green roof requiring no reinforcement was determined and will be used. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
