Renovation of a municipal facility in Bedford, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Reference number : 1628436 Review Title : Renovation of the municipal office The work is divided into two sections, all according to the following detail. Demolition, preparation and repair work: a) Lower the ground level on the east side of the building . The asphalt must be removed and the soil dug in order to lower the ground level below the exterior cladding of the building by including new paving of the same area as currently, i.e. a length of 12 meters by a width of 3, 8 meters ensuring the necessary slope for water runoff outside the building. In addition, new stone and compaction should be provided if necessary. (photo 4.2 a - East wall of the building) b) Opening of the east wall of the building. The East wall of the building will have to be opened from the outside and/or from the inside in order to change the East door and the 3 windows of the same wall and the gypsum necessary following water infiltration. The East door must be of the same type, 34 inches with a window and a steel push bar. The windows will have to be pvc sliding with the same dimensions as the current openings approximately 46 inches by 32 inches. The front door and window will also have to be changed to the same dimensions. The 34 inch steel front door shall have a window and lock with a combination as at present and the window (53 inches by 51 inches) have openings for ventilation. The wooden structure of the windows and doors and the amounts around the windows are possibly rotten since there is water infiltration. It is therefore necessary to provide for the replacement of wood studs equivalent to twenty percent (20%) of the area of the east wall for the purposes of the bid. The actual amount for this item may be adjusted based on the actual amount replaced and according to article 4.6.(photo 4.2 b window surround) c) Insulation . Insulate the east wall along its length of 18 meters and its height with sprayed insulation. A new vapor barrier will be required. In addition, additional wood studs are to be expected since those currently in place are spaced approximately 22 inches apart. (photo 4.2 c - inside wall) d) Reinstall toilet piping inside the building . Currently, it passes through the exterior wall and there is freezing of the pipes in cold weather. It will be necessary to condemn the current pipes and to redo the piping inside with a formwork in the toilets. Finishing work : e) Change the two toilets for 2 low flow toilets. f) Change the two fans in the toilets with built-in light and reposition the convector. g) Repair and paint the walls of the hallway, boardroom, washrooms and DG office measuring 14 feet by 14 feet. The work must be completed before May 1 , 2023 . The contractor must ensure the accessibility and security of the offices during business hours. The contractor must provide all the normal services that are usually required for this type of project and follow the standards of the Building Act . award is subject to final approval.
