The Muskegon Area District Library is requesting proposals and statements of qualifications from design firms and from design-build firms relating to a furniture renovation project in Dalton Township, Michigan. MADL (Muskegon Area District Library) is seeking to engage a professionally qualified design firm or design-build firm with extensive experience in design planning of public library spaces, and if the successful respondent is also a design-build firm to provide the necessary architectural, and project management to complete the project. Muskegon Area District Library seeks: (1) an innovative design/remodel team to update/replace the circulation/service desk and furniture within the Dalton Branch Library, and (2) design a new layout of the furniture that is both accessible and functional. The design team will be expected to challenge current concepts in service delivery to enhance accessibility and the overall customer experience through reliance on state-of-the-art technology and design principles to develop a concept that inspires lifelong learning for citizens of all ages and abilities. An understanding of both the history of library services and the unique ability to visualize what technological changes might hold for the future of libraries is a benefit. This project should not exceed $50,000 for design, build-out, and furnishing the existing site. The selected firm will make use of existing shelving. The Muskegon Area District Library has sole discretion and reserves the right to reject all responses received with respect to this Request for Proposal/Qualifications and to cancel the process at any time prior to entering into a formal agreement
