Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in LaFayette, Georgia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Work consists of two (2) Divisions, which, if awarded, will be awarded together as a single Contract. DIVISION ONE Shattuck Industrial Pump Station Replacement: One submersible triplex sewage pump station with three (3) 60 HP submersible pumps and controls; pre-cast 10 foot diameter concrete wet well and valve/flow meter vaults; 75 L.F. of 12-inch ductile iron sewer; 50 L.F. of 12-inch ductile iron force main piping, valves and fittings; 50 KW diesel generator set; electrical system; and all related items including, but not limited to, clearing earthwork, excavation (including rock removal), sheet shoring, de-watering, site work, crushed stone pavement, testing and start-up, demolition of existing pump station, and other incidentals as required for a complete and operational facility. DIVISION TWO Gravity Sewer Replacement: Approximately 670 L.F. of 12-inch PVC gravity sewer, one bored railroad crossing with 101 L.F. of 24-inch steel casing and 12-inch ductile iron carrier pipe, 5 manholes; abandonment of 2 existing manholes; 540 square yards of pavement replacement; by-pass pumping for connection to existing manhole; 370 L.F. of 1-inch polyethylene service line. The Project will be funded by an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant and Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) CWSRF loan. Payment for the Work will be made on the basis of Contractor's periodic Applications-for-Payment processed by the Engineer. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, or other security authorized by law, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. Refer to other bidding requirements in Section 00200 - Instruction to Bidders included in the Bidding Documents. In accordance with O.C.G.A. 43-41-1, Bidders must submit a photocopy of their Georgia Contractor License. Contractors and comply with all provisions of the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act (O.C.G.A. 13-10-91 and O.C.G.A. 50-36-1). The Successful Bidder must certify compliance with all applicable state and federal laws regarding maintaining a drug-free workplace and certify compliance with federal Executive Order 11246 regarding Equal Employment Opportunity. The Successful Bidder must comply with federal Labor Standards and Prevailing Wage Requirements (Davis Bacon Wages), and all other state and federal laws and regulations applicable to funding under by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority's State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program. The right is reserved by the Owner to delay the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of the bids, during which time the bids shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all technicalities or informalities. If an award is made, the award will be made to the responsible and responsive Bidder whose Total Base Bid plus selected alternatives is lowest.
