Site work for a water / sewer project in Pike, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

For information contact: Jacob Kelly, District Technician Wyoming County Soil and Water Conservation District 36 Center Street - Suite D, Warsaw, NY 14569 Phone: 585-786-3675 This project will involve the installation of approximately 480 linear feet of rock rip-rap streambank protection on the Wiscoy Creek in the town of Pike at the McCormick Farms Inc. property on East Koy Road. This streambank stabilization project will include de- watering the project site, shaping and grading the channel and streambanks and armoring the streambank with heavy rock rip-rap. During construction, all appropriate erosion and sediment control practices will be implemented to minimize sediment pollution. To de-water the channel during construction a by-pass channel will be utilized. Material excavated during the channel re-shaping will be utilized on-site for streambank grading and to resurface the access road to the site if the material is suitable. To improve streambank stability, the banks will be re-graded to achieve a 2:1 (horizontal: vertical) slope. The banks of the channel will be cut back to achieve this slope, excess gravel will be used to slope the project where cuts are not necessary. The banks will be armored with heavy rock. Toe rock, consisting of 3' x 3' x 3' single pieces will be entrenched into the streambed. Rock rip-rap will be placed along the bank at 2 feet of thickness and a vertical distance of ~8 feet above the toe. Pre-constructed trout habitat lunkers will be installed along 140 feet of the project (this area will be laid out prior to construction). 15 will be placed in one area and 2 will be placed further up stream. Lunkers will be built on site by District staff and volunteers. The lunkers will be set on top of heavy gravel and with the bottom of the lunker at stream bed grade. The lunkers will be backfilled with gabion stone (Gravel and Gabion Stone will be provided by a sponsor and are not part of the bid but will be installed by the contractor). Large flat 2'x 2' rocks on the leading edge to weigh the structure down. Bank rock will be placed above the lunker to stabilize the remaining area. At the upstream and downstream end of the project, a 15 feet key into the streambank will be installed consisting of heavy rock rip-rap. A grade control structure will be placed at the lower extent of the project and will be constructed using 3'x 3' rock. The project must be completed by October 15th, 2022. All work shall be completed with minimal damage to private property. After construction is complete, all disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched and will be restored to their before-construction conditions. This Proposal is a Lump Sum Proposal, with the contractor providing all the necessary equipment and labor to complete the work as outlined at the project site. Bid price shall include mobilization and required insurance costs. Prevailing wage rates for Wyoming County are included in the bid package.
