Saving Project...

Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

ECSU has a need to engage a design firm to assist in the preliminary planning and ultimate design of a sky bridge connecting main campus to Viking Village. The ECSU sky bridge will serve as a pedestrian conduit crossing Weeksville Road and connecting the university's most popular upperclassman residence hall to the ECSU main campus. This project is a multi-phased project. The first phase consists of working with the ECSU Design and Construction team and the team developing the ECSU master plan to establish preliminary design ideas for discussion and presentation to affected community partners (utility companies, neighboring owners, and the city of Elizabeth city). Based upon the results of phase 1, phase 2 will include the design and construction of the sky bridge. It is anticipated that the first phase of the project will take 4 months, the second phase of the project is anticipated to take 24 months. In order to offer architectural or engineering services in response to this solicitation, the proposer must be licensed in the State of North Carolina. Project Budget $2,500,000.
