The Metcalfe County Schools will receive lump sum sealed bids from prime contractors for replacement of the roof at the Metcalfe County High School. Provide replacement of new metal roof. The Work includes, but is not limited to, reroofing the existing high school with "roof hugger" system and insulation, all new sheet metal flashings, gutters, down spouts & copings to be provided, including demolition, and clean-up and removal of construction debris. Proposals will be received as a Lump Sum Bid(s) for the work indicated in the Bidding Documents. Bid Guaranty in the form of a Bid Bond (Proposal bonds with Contractor acting as surety are not acceptable), Certified Check, or cash shall accompany each bid. The amount of the bid Guaranty shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid set forth in the Proposal Form. All bid Guaranties shall be made payable to the Metcalfe County Schools No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days therefrom. The scoring of bids/proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and Preferences for a Qualified Bidder. Please refer to specification sections 00220 and 00450. The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance and payment bond and a material and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract price. The premium for the bonds shall be included in the proposal amount(s). The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents Deposits will be refunded to contractors who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner (directly or through a prime contractor) and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition within ten days of the opening of the bids.
