The Project Consists of the Maintenance and Pruning of Existing Street Trees. Work Shall Include the Trimming and Shaping of Various Species of Street Trees Throughout the City, Including the Removal and Disposal of Branches and Debris. The Project Also Consists of Installing and Maintaining Traffic Control Devices as Needed for the Duration of the Project. The City Will Finalize Locations After Award of Contract. For Bidding Purposes, a Location Table is Provided in Appendix "a" of the Project Specifications. All Work on This Contract Shall Commence Within Thirty (30) Calendar Days of Notice to Proceed and Shall Proceed on an as-needed Basis Throughout the Year. The City of Union City Will Strictly Abide by These Dates. The Contractor Will Need to Provide the Appropriate Labor Force and Equipment to Comply With the Required Schedule. Proposals Must Be Made on the Standard Proposal Forms in the Manner Designated in the Contract Documents, Must Be Enclosed in Sealed Envelopes Bearing the Name and Address of the Bidder and the Name of the Project on the Outside and Be Addressed to City Clerk of Union City and Must Be Accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety From a Surety Company Authorized to Do Business in the State of New Jersey and Acceptable to the Municipality and Either a Bid Bond or a Certified Check Drawn to the Order of "City of Union City" for Not Less Than Ten Percent (10%) of the Amount Bid, Except That the Check Shall Not Exceed $20,000.00. The Successful Bidder is Hereby Notified That a Performance Bond and Labor and Material (Payment) Bond for the Full Amount of This Project is Required. Contractor Must Submit Within the Same Sealed Bid Envelope One (1) Original Proposal Package and Two (2) Complete Copies of the Bid Package (Please Do Not Staple Documents). The Award of the Contract for This Project Will Not Be Made Until the Necessary Funds Have Been Provided by the Owner in a Lawful Manner. The Owner or the Engineer Reserves the Right to Require a Complete Financial and Experience Statement From Prospective Bidders Showing That They Have Satisfactorily Completed Work of the Nature Required Before Furnishing Proposal Forms or Specifications, or Before Awarding the Contract. Proposals for This Contract Will Only Be Accepted From Bidders Who Have Properly Qualified in Accordance With the Requirements of the Contract Documents. The Right is Also Reserved to Reject Any or All Bids or to Waive Any Informalities Where Such Informality is Not Detrimental to the Best Interest of the Owner. Further, the Owner Reserves the Right to Abandon the Project and Reject the Bids Entirely if Any Legal or State or Federal Administrative Action is Taken Against the Owner Which Could Delay or Jeopardize the Project From Commencing. The Right is Also Reserved to Increase or Decrease the Quantities Specified in the Manner Designated in the Specifications.
