The project is located at the Canadian National Railway Company's railyard, 950 Ford Avenue, City of Conneaut, Ashtabula County, Ohio 44030. The project is generally located south and west of Conneaut Creek on a 35.817 Acre leased area of the former Lower Coal Dock #3. This project includes work associated with the Conneaut Creek Dredge Reclamation Facility Site Improvements for the construction of a new sediment processing and management facility for receiving and management of dredged material and associated water from Lake Erie and Conneaut Creek. Both hydraulically and mechanically offloaded fine- and coarse-grained dredged material will be accepted and processed. A sluiceway system will manage hydraulically offloaded dredged material and silt management cells will manage mechanically offloaded dredged material. Work includes construction of aggregate access roads and drives, clay cap liner, containment berms, inlet and outlet control structures, storm sewer pipes and forcemain, and sluiceway system in accordance with the plans and specifications. There are two contracts in the bid documents for the same work. Contract A is to complete all work and ready for receipt of dredged material by July 31, 2023. Contract B is to complete all work and ready for receipt of dredged material by July 31, 2024 with Restoration within 90 days of Substantial Completion. The bidder may bid either contract or both.
