Road work items may include road reconditioning, construction of rolling dips, installation of culverts, roadside brushing, grading, aggregate placement, etc. A work list and pay time description will be provided prior to mobilization of each individual site. The contractor will work with the appropriate Forest Service Zone Engineer to outline the exact locations of the work items for each site. The Forest Service Zone Engineer will provide the Contractor a map and a kmz file with the work outlined for their use. If work items need to be added or removed, a change order to the contract must be issued and approved by the Contracting Officer. Optional road work items may be awarded if the need is agreed upon before work starts and the funding is approved by the Contracting Officer. An onsite prework meeting will be completed with the contactor to clarify location and type of work that is expected for each site prior to construction. The location of each work item will be provided via GPS and staking. Pre-Bid/ Pre-Proposal Conference (a) The Government is planning a pre-bid/pre-proposal conference, during which potential offerors may obtain a better understanding of the work required. (b) Offerors are encouraged to submit all questions in writing at least five (5) days prior to the conference. Questions will be considered at any time prior to or during the conference; however, offerors will be asked to confirm verbal questions in writing. Subsequent to the conference, an amendment to the solicitation containing an abstract of the questions and answers, and a list of attendees, will be disseminated. (c) In order to facilitate conference preparations, it is requested that the person named on the Standard Form 1442 of this solicitation be contacted and advised of the number of persons who will attend.
