Renovation of a municipal facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Scope of Work: Provide all material, labor, parts, equipment, travel and any disposal required to remove existing flooring and install new flooring as described in the scope of work listed below. Scope includes cleanup of work area and equipment when complete. The scope of this work includes all of the following; Contractor shall remove and dispose of all existing carpet and cove base in areas identified. Contractor shall prepare all surfaces for new carpet and cove base installation. Owner shall be responsible for moving items from floor area and return after carpet installation Install new 4" cove base where appropriate. The Carpet Contractor will be held responsible for the accuracy of measurement and fit of this work. No end of roll will be accepted at wall less than 2 feet in length. The extent of carpeting will be shown during site visit and by specifications, and is defined to include carpet and accessories. Samples: For each color and texture required. Installer: Firm and/or firm owners must have at least 5 years of carpeting experience, similar to work of this section. Prior to awarding of bid, bidder may be required to provide references of installation sites of specified carpet. Carpet to be installed to minimize the number of seams. Bid carpet to be installed w/long runs down corridors. Absolutely no "saddles" or double seams particularly under doors. Color to match the remaining part of the building or if color is not available, onewhich is approved by owner A. Carpet must meet or exceed the following specifications: Yarn - 100% of Type 6.6 or 6 nylon continuous filament. Dye Method - Solution. Construction - Level loop. Gauge - 1/10. Stitches per inch - Minimum of 8.6. Finished Pile Weight - Minimum of 26 OZ per SQ. yard. Finished Pile Thickness - Minimum .115 inch / Maximum .175 inch. Density - Minimum 5000. Primary Backing- Woven Polypropylene. Secondary Backing -Woven Synthetic. Width- 12' and 15'. Flammability - Class I. Smoke - Less than 450 Flaming. Static - Less than 3.5 KV (AATCC - 134 B. Warranty: 10 year limited wear warranty. 10 year limited stain and fade resistance warranty. 10 year limited anti- static warranty All installed products must meet manufactures recommendations in order to meet all warranty specifications, both OCS and Manufactures. C. Installation Areas of Flooring: (Items may not be in order) Multi-Purpose Room Reception Area Conference Rooms Corridors Restrooms Break Room Copy Rooms All work will be in accordance with building and fire code. All work will be in accordance to manufacturer's recommendations and specifications. Work shall be completed by January 1, 2023. Bid will include all associated costs including travel. The Sixth Judicial District, Department of Correctional Services reserves the right to reject any and all bids if deemed necessary.
