Saving Project...

Renovation of a water / sewer project in North Cobalt, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The overall objective of the assignment is to retain the services of a qualified contractor to perform a full rehabilitation of a compromised filter which would include coating of the concrete surfaces, media removal and replacement and replacement of the underdrain system. The size of the filter is 10' wide by 18' long by 14' deep with approximately 3' of filtration media inside. The key elements of the assignment are as follows: 1. Removal and disposal of filtration media (sand/anthracite); 2. Removal and disposal of existing underdrain and prepare for new installation; 3. Sandblast concrete surfaces and apply ANSI/NSF 61 coating; 4. Installation of new underdrain system which is to meet all regulatory requirements; 5. Supply and install filter media as per AWWA B100-16 standards. The media shall consist of the appropriate depth and sizing of Sand and Anthracite based on the proposed underdrain to ensure proper filtration is achieved as per Provincial Regulation. The filtration media shall be designed to accommodate a maximum flow rate of 78.88 L/s. 6. Disinfect all media as per AWWA C653-13; 7. Testing and Commissioning; 8. Supply the City with all as built/shop drawings, equipment manuals, and media composition. Note: The dimensions of 10' wide by 18' long by 14' deep with a 3' depth of media are approximate measurements and may change as a result of the mandatory site visit.
