Renovation of a municipal facility in Freetown, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Painting the Exterior of the Village School House located at 5 North Main Street Assonet, MA. Labor to include Removing all peeling paint and repairing any necessary wood areas. Lead Paint is present. Contractor must be certified in Lead Paint abatement and removal Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Project Description: Scope of Work involves the following: 1.) Remove all peeling, scaling, and failing paint layers and caulking by scraping and sanding. No chemical treatment shall be used without Town authorization. 2.) Hand sand (no power sanding) to smooth out all rough edges to create a smooth transition for application of new primer and paint. 3.) Soft wash all exterior wood and metal surfaces prior to applying primer/sealer. 4.) Prime and paint all exterior surfaces to include, but not limited to, siding, fascia, shadow and trim boards, eaves, door frames and trim, window frames and trim, railings, steps, ramps, gutter, downspouts, shutters. 5.) Primer shall be one (1) coat and a minimum of two (2) top coats. 6.) Stainless steel nails and screws shall be used for refastening loose or installing replacement wood siding and other wood/metal items. 7.) Identify wood surfaces that need to be replaced. Contractor shall photograph all deteriorated wood for the Town to review and approve prior to replacement. Material type and additional cost to be approved by Town prior to replacement. 8.) Contractor shall use ladders, scaffolding or lift devises in a manner that will not damage the roof.\ or fascia. 9.) Lead paint is present, and Contractor shall be certified for lead paint abatement and removal and shall follow all federal and state requirements. 10.) Final clean-up of site. 11. ) Paint to be primarily white, however some trim is to be painted green. Completion Date: As soon as practicable, projected to be completed by December 15, 2022, if feasible. Prevailing Wage Required: YES Contractor shall provide a minimum of(2) year warranty on the work covering parts, materials, and workmanship. This shall be provided in writing to the Town. All warranty work repair work is to be provided at no charge to the Town.
