The City of South San Francisco (“City”) is soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) from architectural firms to provide planning and design services, preparation of design and construction documents and provide construction administration for the 840 West Orange Avenue Preschool Conversion and the Westborough Preschool Addition. The City is seeking a qualified firm to verify existing conditions, finalize plan level programming, prepare design documents and issue construction contract documents for permits and construction. Construction administration services for each of the components of the Project is also required. The architectural firm will be required to retain all specialty consultants/experts, including but not limited to engineers (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing), landscape architect, lighting, technology, sustainability (LEED), transportation, interior design, and cost estimating. The firm is expected to be knowledgeable of the City’s building and design approval process requirements. The budget for the Project (hard and soft costs) is $14 million. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all responses to the RFP, to alter the selection process in any way, to postpone the selection process for its own convenience at any time, and to waive any irregularities in the RFP. The City also reserves the right to accept or reject any individual subconsultant that a firm/team proposes to use.
