Region: 4 Counties: Boulder, Denver This project will improve the safety and operational efficiency of the US287/SH52 intersection. SH52 will be widened on the north and south sides to accommodate an additional left turn lane and create a 6-foot bicycle lane for both eastbound and westbound traffic. US287 will be widened to the east to accommodate an additional left turn lane for both northbound and southbound traffic. Radii at all four corners shall be increased to improve traffic movements. Traffic signal poles, pedestrian poles and ADA ramps shall be replaced to maintain a pedestrian friendly signalized intersection. Drainage improvements are being made throughout the intersection including the replacement and relocation of an existing irrigation concrete box culvert that crosses US287 just south of the intersection, and the relocation of concrete lined ditch irrigation facilities that run parallel to US287 on the east. Right-of-Way is required at each corner of the intersection as well as along the east side of US287 and the north side of SH52 to accommodate the desired improvements listed above.
