The City of Burlington Engineering Department is releasing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking responses from qualified consultants with proven experience and expertise, to provide professional engineering, environmental, and related services for the Site #12 Sewer Outfall Project as described in this document. Consulting firms submitting proposals shall be in good standing and licensed with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors. Additionally, firms shall be experienced in all aspects of the fields of wastewater collection and outfall lines, boundary survey, easement mapping, deed preparation, and the operation and maintenance of wastewater collection facilities. The City of Burlington intends to contract with a professional engineering firm or firms to provide services for the development of a comprehensive plan for a sewer outfall to service the Economic Development Site identified as Site #12. The current alignment was proposed as part of the 2012 Western Area Wastewater Master Plan, it should be reevaluated to be the most economical and beneficial alignment. Firms responding to this RFQ shall provide documentation of their experience, expertise, and knowledge in conducting Wastewater system design and the required easements to serve the area. This contract will be developed as a collaborative effort between the City and the selected Professional Engineering firm(s). The City is interested in obtaining the professional services of one or more consulting firms to provide support for the development of the Site #12 Sewer Outfall Plans. The scope and time frame for the surveying, preparation, and design of the constructions plan will be such that the project can meet the funding requirements of being under a contract with a contractor for the work by December 31, 2024 and project completion by December 31, 2026.
