2022 Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Improvements Unit Price Construction Contract This project has a maximum amount of $6,000,000, which may be awarded solely to one bidder or divided and awarded to multiple bidders. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK This contract is a unit price construction contract where the City will issue work orders for specific projects. The major work will consist of the following: traffic signal improvements, street lighting improvements, minor intersection roadway improvements, curb and gutter, medians, guardrail installation, pavement marking and signing, railroad safety improvements, concrete sidewalk, and curb ramps. The purpose of this invitation to bidders is to set unit prices and the City's contract budget may be less than the bid amounts, therefore, the City is not obligated to award a contract for the full bid amount. PREQUALIFICATION Certain improvements included in this project must be performed by a contractor or designated subcontractor who is pre-qualified by the City at the time of bid opening. The procedures for qualification and pre-qualification are outlined in the Section 3 of 00 21 13 Emailed questions will suffice as "questions in writing." If necessary, Addenda will be issued pursuant to the Instructions to Bidders. CITY'S RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REJECT BIDS City reserves the right to waive irregularities and to accept or reject any or all bids. AWARD City may award contracts to more than one bidder, lowest to highest, but is not required to award to all, or any bidders. RENEWALS Contract(s) may be renewed up to two (2) additional terms at the earlier of the expiration of contract funds or contract time under the same terms, conditions, and unit prices. FUNDING Any Contract or Contracts awarded under this INVITATION TO BIDDERS are expected to be funded from revenues generated from bonds, grants, or impact fees and reserved by the City for the Project.
