Renovation of a municipal facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) is being issued to acquire the services of a Mechanical Engineer for design, tender and construction contract administration services for a combined boiler replacement project. The two locations are both in the Smoky Lake, Alberta vicinity, with one at the Provincial Building and the other at Greenhouse No 21-Alberta Tree Improvement and Seed Centre. Smoky Lake Provincial Building - replacement of heating boilers, complete with new boiler and circulating pumps, accessible Victaulic fittings, associated radiator valves, updated BMCS graphics, and added control points. Existing boiler, associated pumps, equipment, and systems are at the end of their life cycle, with replacement parts obsolete. Currently there are two gas-fired boilers using glycol servicing to perimeter radiation, heating coils and force flow heaters. New system to be converted from hot water to glycol. Boilers are Laars Mighty Therm, 293 kW heating capacity, with two (2) main heating circulation pumps (Bell & Gosset). Greenhouse No 21-Alberta Tree Improvement and Seed Centre - replacement of heating boilers, complete with boiler and feed pumps, and all associated equipment and systems. Current boilers and pumps are at the end of their life cycle, are failing, with replacement parts obsolete. Existing are six (6) Superhot gas fired boilers, 2760 MBH.
