Renovation of a detention facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

1. Remove and dispose of existing carpet in owner provided dumpster. 2. Examine substrate and clean and prep substrate to receive new carpet. Use trowelable leveling and patching compounds, according to manufacturer's written instructions, to fill cracks, holes, depressions and protrusions in substrates. 3. Broom and vacuum clean substrates to be covered immediately before installing carpet. 4. Install new carpet properly per manufacturer's written instructions. All carpet shall be from the same dye-lot. Care shall be taken to ensure carpet is tight at all floor boxes, stairs, walls, etc. Product: Milliken, Name: Live Circuit, Series: Current Installation Pattern: Ashlar Model Number: CUR13, Size: 39 1/2 " x 10" Color: Octane Note: Base should be Road Runner (for durability) 5. All carpet installation shall comply with CRI 104 and the written manufacturer's recommended method of installation for modular carpet plank installation and direct glue-down installation. All carpet shall be installed in the same direction for continuity of the pattern and parallel to walls. 6. Clean existing walls in preparation for installation of new vinyl base. Repair any damage as necessary. 7. All work shall be completed in a clean and workmanlike manner. 8. The contractor shall perform the following operations immediately after installing the carpet: Remove excess adhesive, seam sealer, and other surface blemishes using cleaner recommended by the carpet manufacturer. Remove yarns that protrude from the carpet surface. Vacuum carpet using commercial machine with a face-beater element. 9. Renderings provided are for reference only. Field conditions will be verified by Contractor. Conditions may vary. 10. Product shall be stored in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area, protected from damage and soiling. Before installation, acclimate carpet to the atmospheric conditions of the areas in which it will be installed for 2 days prior to installation. 11. Carpet shall be free of visual blemishes, streaks, poorly dyed areas, fuzzing of pile yarn, spots or stains and other physical and manufacturing defects. 12. Contractor shall move all furniture necessary to complete the work and replace furniture to its original position upon completion of work. 13. Contractor shall assume the responsibility for the protection of all finished construction under the Contract and shall repair and restore any and all damage of finished work to its original state. 14. Contractor shall provide 10% attic stock, but no less than a full package of each product specified. Project Start Date Based on materials GFIAA reserves the right to modify the deadline set forth in the above table in its sole discretion. Any such modifications will be stated in an addendum. This solicitation will be publicly opened at the Gerald R Ford International Airport Authority, located on the second floor of the Gerald R Ford International Airport Terminal Building at 5500 44th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49512. All submissions will be sealed until the date and time specified, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Questions regarding this solicitation are to be submitted in writing to purchasing@grr.org prior to 5 p.m. on August 24, 2022. GFIAA reserves the right to publish and respond to an inquiry, respond directly to the inquirer without publishing or not respond to the inquiry at its sole discretion. It is the firm's responsibility to become familiar with and fully informed regarding the terms, conditions, and specifications of this solicitation. Lack of understanding or misinterpretation of any portions of this solicitation shall not be cause for withdrawal after opening or for subsequent protest of award. Addendums will only be published by the GFIAA Purchasing Department and available for review Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to 100% of the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all of Contractor's obligations under the Contract. These bonds shall remain in effect until one year after the date when final payment becomes due.
