Replace Approximately 800 Water Meters Bids shall be unit price pay items as indicated in the Bid Form. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available and neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the plan room. SUBMITTAL OF ELECTRONIC BIDS: Each electronically submit- ted bid must be submitted in "pdf" format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Note - elec- tronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. In the event that an electronically submitted bid has a corrupted attachment, the bid will be considered null and void by the owner. Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside "Bid for: Water Meter Replacement Project, Town of Shannon". A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder or an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to the TOWN OF SHANNON, on negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. A PERFORMANCE BOND and a PAYMENT BOND, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the CONTRACT PRICE, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. I (we) agree to begin work within (10) calendar days after the issuance of Notice to Proceed, and to complete the work within 100 calendar days thereafter. The CONTRACTOR agrees, for the consideration above expressed, to begin and complete the work within the time specified in the Proposal. If the CONTRACTOR fails to complete the work in the time specified, he shall pay the OWNER as liquidated damages, ascertained and agreed, and not in the nature of a penalty, the sum of $500.00 for each day delayed, which shall be deducted from the final amount to be paid under the contract; provided that the extension of time with the waiver of liquidation damages may be granted as provided for in the Specifications.
