Dufferin Sanitary Trunk Sewer (STS) System Improvements: - New sewer from proposed MH-001 to proposed MH-004 - Sewer and MH Rehabilitation from MH135-003 to MH135-005 - Bank Stabilization and Creek Modification Works - Abandonment of Sewer and Culvert Infrastructure from MH135-003 to MH132-111 This project involves constructing an alternate alignment for the Dufferin STS to avoid the reservoir, rehabilitating the STS between MH135-005 and the proposed MH-001, and abandoning the remaining STS that will be taken out of service as per the provided Contract Drawings. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Installing approximately 745 m of 1,200 mm diameter sewer using microtunneling methodology for realignment of the existing Dufferin and West Don Sanitary Trunk Sewers. The new 1,200 mm diameter sewer shall extend from the proposed MH-001 to the proposed MH-004 and tie-in to existing infrastructure; 2. Rehabilitating approximately 256 m of 750 mm diameter trunk sewer from MH135-005 to the proposed shaft downstream of MH135 003 (MH-001) using CIPP lining methodology and rehabilitating the existing MHs: MH135-003, MH135-004, MH135-005, and local MH4723107615; 3. Abandoning approximately 689 m of existing trunk sewer from the proposed MH-001 to MH132 110B, including the abandonment of the culvert that runs under the existing dam structure; 4. Constructing and reconstructing approximately 82 m of 250 mm diameter local sewer from existing MH4753007820 to proposed MH-002A, and about 7 m of 300 mm diameter concrete pipe from MH-002A to MH-002 along Finch Ave West, including a trenchless crossing of Finch Ave West using jack and bore methodology with a 1,200 mm casing pipe, and abandoning approximately 240 m of local sewer from existing MH4749807711 to MH4753007820; 5. Stabilizing the existing crossing of the Dufferin Creek upstream of MH135-006 and the bank of the Dufferin Creek near MH135-005 and local MH4723107615 and reinstating the bank adjacent to MH135-004 by realigning the Dufferin Creek; 6. Temporarily bypassing trunk and local sanitary sewer flows; 7. Establishing access for all works, including temporary access roads and grading for staging on the north side of Finch Ave West to facilitate microtunneling with associate temporary retaining wall and an access road from Dufferin Street near MH135-006 to MH135-004 with associated temporary creek crossings and permanent retaining wall; 8. Dewatering and environmental protection activities; 9. Temporarily bypassing Dufferin Creek to support bank stabilization and realignment work; 10. Restoring work areas including roadway, driveway, walkway, boulevard, landscaping, trails, topsoil, seed and sod, and planting; 11. Inspecting and cleaning existing sewers and MHs; and 12. Supporting and relocating utilities as required. Substantial Performance must be reached within 360 Working Days from the date of commencement of the Work indicated in the Order to Commence Work which will be issued following the execution of the agreement for this Contract.
