The City of Indianapolis and Marion County ("City-County") is seeking information from current and prospective solid waste and recyclable hauling, processing, and disposal vendors. This information gathering is in preparation for future procurement cycles for the Marion County solid waste program Questions Due: 8/19/2022 by 12:00 Noon Responses will be provided as an addendum to this RFI by August 26, 2022. Please note, this is a target date and may change based on the amount of questions received. The City-County has eleven geographical solid waste districts that receive weekly waste pick-up services. These districts are maintained by the City of Indianapolis' Solid Waste Division within the Department of Public Works ("DPW"), Waste Management of Indianapolis Hauling, and Republic Waste Services of Indiana. Additionally, Ray's Trash Service manages condominiums and multi-family housing within Marion County. In total, DPW services approximately 121,000 sites a year, with 276,200 serviced county-wide. Per Indianapolis code, the Solid Waste Division is responsible for the following: a. Provide collection and disposal of residential solid waste; b. Provide collection and processing of recyclable materials through the curbside and roll-off recycle program; c. Provide collection and disposal of dead animals; d. Provide customer service response to all solid waste complaints and services requests; and e. Provide other citizen services as directed, including, but not limited to, neighborhood cleanups, special event cleanup, tire disposal, downtown pedestrian solid waste collection and disposal, and solid waste roll-off collection and disposal.
