Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Edmonton, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a retail development; service station / car wash facility; and restaurant.
Scope of work consists of the development of up to eighteen (18) existing Safety Rest Areas located along the major level 1 highway corridors within the Province. There are three pairs of Sites that are located directly opposite each other on (either side of the highway) - specifically Sites #1 and #2 (Gleichen); #7 and #8 (Warner); and #16 and #17 (Ross Creek); collectively the "Twin-Sites". If the Proponent elects to develop any of the Twin-Sites, these sites will need to be developed together as pairs, in order to prevent pedestrian traffic crossing the highway from an undeveloped SRA to access services at the CSRA. The Province will not consider a pedestrian bridge or underpass to link the Twin-Sites. And development of the brownfield site #6 Wolf Creek. The facilities are to include retail and truck fuel; electronic vehicle charging stations; Convenience store; and Quick Service Restaurants. TIMELINE: A Negotiated Request for Proposals was issued by the owner, seeking submissions from proponents to enter into a Lease to develop the proposed Commercial Safety Rest Areas. The NRFP has been cancelled by the owner at this time. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
