The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to provide trucks and various equipment with operators experienced in snow removal operations to establish contract for the removal of snow, ice and other frozen precipitation from specific routes, including all intersections and cross-overs, listed below within Roanoke County in the Salem Residency's area. The trucks shall have owner provided plows, saddle tanks (except 1 tons) and chemical spreaders. A contractor supplied shift supervisor with vehicle shall be supplied for every Lot. Award will be made by LOT, bidders may bid on as many lots as they have equipment and operators to supply. Awards will not be made for the same equipment in more than one lot. Equipment will only be awarded to one LOT. Award will be made in LOT number order. The issuing office will determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions 5:00PM, September 1, 2022. SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, fuel, supplies, tools, transportation, qualified, experienced operator(s), and supervision necessary to perform Snow Removal Operations to remove snow, ice and other frozen precipitation on Primary and select Secondary Routes in Roanoke County including all intersections and crossovers, etc., as directed by the VDOT Contract Administrator or designee. Services included in this contract will be required on an on-call as needed basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
