Renovation of a mixed-use development in Beverly, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility; and water / sewer project.

Bidding will be in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections It is each bidder's sole responsibility to make sure that its bid is received at the Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board, 50 Arlington Avenue, Beverly, Massachusetts, in the form and by the time specified herein. The deadline will be strictly enforced. Submission by facsimile or e-mail is prohibited. Bidders are advised that U.S. Mail deliveries to the Board's office have been irregular. Hand delivery is recommended. The work will take place at the Board's water treatment plant in Beverly, Massachusetts, and includes the demolition, disposal and replacement of the existing flat roof over the Laboratory Building as well as a portion of the Administration Building. Ancil ary work includes, but is not limited to, removal and reinstallation of existing rooftop exhaust fans, the replacement and addition of roof curbs for existing equipment, and the removal and replacement of existing roof sheathing and HVAC insulation. The Contract Time is 120 consecutive calendar days. The estimated project cost is $200,000.00. Bids will be valid only when accompanied by (1) a current Certificate of Eligibility issued by Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance showing that the Bidder has been certified in the classification of Roofing and has the capacity rating to perform this work, and (2) an Update Statement summarizing the Bidder's record for the period between the latest Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance certification and the date the bid is submitted.Any Bid submitted without the required Certificate of Eligibility and Update Statement shall be invalid. A bid deposit shall accompany all bids and shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash, or certified, treasurer's, or cashier's check in the amount of: Five percent of the value of the bid including all alternates, if any are listed on the Bid Form. Contract Documents will be available for examination only at the Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board, 50 Arlington Avenue, Beverly, Massachusetts, during normal business hours No Bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, after the actual date of the opening of bids or thirty days following federal approval, whichever is later. The successful bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Labor and Materials Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Board. Complete instructions for filing bids are included in the Information for Bidders section of the Contract Documents. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development under the provision of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the bidder, before bid opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those tradespeople who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. The Board reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids if it deems it to be in the public interest to do so.
