Remodeling and renovation of a municipal facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 308,000-square-foot, four-story above grade municipal facility.
The Gregory Bateson Building Renovation is a 4-story, 308,000 sf renovation Department of General Services (DGS). The project is currently in the Progressive Design-Build Phase with construction to start Fall of 2022. This public project is funded through the State Project Infrastructure Fund (SPIF) and will be procured under a Project Labor Agreement (PLA). Due to the buildings' original innovations forward thinking for energy conservation is in the process of becoming a state registered Historic Building. McCarthy is reaching out to the following trades: Casework, Flooring, Tile, Fire Proofing, Doors Frames and Hardware and Ancillary Furniture The Gregory Bateson Building located at 1600 9th St in downtown Sacramento, Ca encompasses a whole city block. This is the first major renovation of this historic building and will upgrade all the buildings systems, exterior envelope, and complete interior retrofit including tenant improvements to house the new program occupants. The building is owned and operated by DGS and will house various state agencies. As of May 31, 2024, the project is under construction.
