There will be no pre-bid meeting for this project. The City of Sunset Hills, Missouri is accepting bids to apply a Chip Seal application to selected asphalt streets in the City of Sunset Hills. This will involve approximately 10,963 SY of street pavement. Direct all questions to Wesley Searcy at wsearcy@sunset-hills.com SCOPE OF WORK: This work shall consist of the application of Chip Seal Material to an existing surface which has been previously surfaced with asphaltic concrete, bituminous material or treated with bituminous materials. The Chip Seal shall consist of a mixture of emulsified asphalt, mineral aggregate and water, properly proportioned, mixed and spread on the bituminous surface in accordance with these specifications established by the City Engineer A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany all proposals. Bid bonds for all but the low three (3) bids will be returned within ten (10) days of the bid opening. Bonds from the three (3) low bidders will be returned after the award of the contract. The tentative schedule for the award is the Board of Aidermen meeting on September 13, 2022. A Wage Determination from the Missouri Department of Labor is attach and made part of the specifications. The successful contractor is expected to comply with all provisions for the payment of wages relating to Public Works Construction projects. Upon award of the contract, the successful contractor shall, within 10 working days, file with the City, a payment and performance bond in the amount of 100% of the extended amount of the contract. All work awarded shall be completed within Thirty (30) calendar days from the Notice To Proceed. This schedule starts on the date of the Notice to Proceed
