Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility.

The Historic Westside market hall/small business incubation center will include incubator spaces for restaurant entrepreneurs looking to launch their own concept without significant capital outlay. The intent of this project is to support small business and entrepreneurial development in coordination with the supporting work happening on the nearby Historic Westside campus. Additionally, the project will create space to incubate small business startups that are at different places in their evolution, from students looking for training opportunities in a unique environment, to first time entrepreneurs looking for support opening their storefront, to small business owners that could use support in expanding their operations. Rent in the facility would be offered at a reduced cost and would include educational support services. Services may include, but not be limited to: - Classes to launch and grow small business concepts - Business plan development and support - Business launch support, including access to capital and financing, sourcing, accounting, staffing, marketing, etc. - Post business-launch technical assistance It is anticipated that the market hall would provide priority opportunities to local residents and small business entrepreneurs, providing them first chance at space as well as other support services. Ideally, this program helps to start and grow small business concepts that eventually locate to their own storefront space in other parts of the Historic Westside. The City of Las Vegas has been in discussions with Cloud Kitchens to partner on the development and programming of the market hall, and they are potentially able to bring $2M to the project. The City of Las Vegas is also seeking EDA grant funding. Once funding is obtained for the project, it can be delivered in 18 months. This project is included in the city’s FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Program. As of August 23, 2022, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
