The project involves modifying portions of existing roadway and walkways. Construction work includes removal of existing sidewalk & curb/gutter, installation of new sidewalk alignment, installation of new curb ramps, installation of new curb/gutter alignment, new concrete median, removal/replacement of striping and pavement markers, removal/replacement of catch basin top. Bids shall be submitted via the Public Purchase System, otherwise the bids shall not be opened or considered. All bids will be encrypted until the hour of opening. Bids received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. The County of Maui will not be responsible in any way for errors in transmission or failure to receive the bid by the deadline due to the bidder's error. Upon bid opening, all bid documents submitted will be available for viewing by all bidders on the Public Purchase System. To be eligible to bid, bidders must be licensed in accordance with Chapter 444, HRS, relating to the licensing of contractors. Contractors are hereby notified of the applicability of Section 11-205.5, HRS, which states that campaign contributions are prohibited from specified State or County government contractors during the term of the contract if the contractors are paid with funds appropriated t>y the legislative body.
