The City of Sequim is soliciting proposals from vendors for the services of a NACE level 3 certified coating inspector to provide project oversight and quality control inspections during the Reservoir Exterior Recoating Project. The project calls for complete removal and recoating of the exterior coating of the existing 1.7-million-gallon welded steel reservoir located at 551 W Reservoir Rd, as well as the spot priming and overcoating of the existing 1.0-million-gallon welded steel reservoir located on Tamerlane Loop at the southeast of the city. The inspector will be expected to oversee all work for both reservoirs including, but not limited to, removing of existing failing coating, surface preparation, protection of the existing potable water in the reservoir (both will remain in service at all times), protection of surrounding areas, coating and testing each layer of the tank according to the specifications and cleanup. The inspector will also be expected to assist in technical aspects of submittal review and contract administration.
