Site work for a water / sewer project in Cambridge, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City of Cambridge Department of Public Works is soliciting sealed proposals from State licensed marine contractors for the installation of three (3) floating finger piers in the City's Municipal Marina. Work consists of demolition of the existing timber finger piers and installation of floating finger piers in accordance with the approved tidal wetlands license. Bidders shall visit the site before submitting a bid for this work and thoroughly familiarize themselves as to the accuracy and correctness of the same. The City of Cambridge reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive informalities or irregularities as it may deem best for its interest. The Owner may discard any bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions hereof and may waive any informalities or reject any and all bids. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. Work consists of demolition of three (3) existing timber finger piers and the furnishing of all materials for and installation of three (3) new floating finger piers in accordance with the approved tidal wetlands license (attached hereto). Each bidder must inform himself/herself fully of the conditions relating to the construction of the project and the employment of labor thereon. Failure to do so will not relieve a successful bidder of his/her obligation to furnish all material and labor necessary to carry out the provisions of his contract. Insofar as possible, the Contractor, in carrying out his/her work, must employ such methods or means as will cause the least possible interruption of or interference with the operation of the Department of Public Works, or the use by the public. The Contractor is required to carry workers' compensation insurance on all employees and himself/herself. The Contractor shall carry a minimum Contractors' liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and shall furnish proof of such insurance to the City at time of award. The Commissioners of Cambridge shall be listed on the certificate as additional insured. The Commissioners of Cambridge reserve the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive informalities, or irregularities as it may deem best for its interest. The City of Cambridge also reserves the right to award the bid on suitability of purpose, quality, service, terms of warranty, and service knowledge, and any other factor deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Cambridge.
