Berkeley County is seeking qualified contractors to perform construction of a pavilion at the Sangaree Library located at 595 Sangaree Parkway, Summerville, SC 29486. The local vendor preference for construction projects only applies when the countys estimated project cost is less than $750,000.00. Concrete Pad: Construct a 24ft x 60ft concrete pad to act as a base for a covered wooden pavilion i. Excavate & grade surface (currently the area is grass; corners are already staked). ii. Grade, Form, Pour, and Finish concrete slab (roughly 1,450 sq ft). iii. Slab to be 24ft x 60ft x 4" thick with thickended edge footing (see detail on drawing S-1) iv. Minimum of 3,000 psi fiber reinforced concrete over 6 mil polyethelene over termite treated compacted fill. v. Remove all forms, material, and debris from site (to include any concrete from washout area). vi. Finish concrete (plain broom finish) vii. Saw cut joints at 12ft x 12ft per industry standard (1/8" wide x 1" deep). B. Pavilion: Construct a 24ft x 60ft covered pavilion with a gable-style standing seam metal roof. (Drawings provided) i. Framing: 1. Treated 8x8 vertical posts. 2. Vertical posts to be installed as noted on the plans for both location and height/depth. 3. Pre-engineered scissor trusses (3:12 slope top chord) to be used. Install as noted on plans. 4. All noted Simpson strong ties and brackets must be installed per plans. 5. Note there are to be 12" open rafter design ii. Roofing: 1. Metal standing seam roof to be installed over the engineered trusses as defined in the plans provided. 2. Metal roofing exact color to be approved by owner; please provide color samples in the range of Forest Green or Dark Green 3. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: a) Contractor is responsible for providing all material and labor. b) Contractors allowed to work Monday-Sunday. c) Power and water source is unavailable at the project location.
