The Town of Rangeley requests proposals for winter sand for the 2022-2023 season. The sand shall be delivered to the Highway Garage located on Robbins Avenue. The Town requests up to 3000 cubic yards of winter sand that meet the following specifications. General Specifications Sand shall be clean, course, and sharp. It shall be completely free of debris and foreign material. Sand shall be 1/2 " (one half inch), with a graduation of: 100% passing a 1/2 " (one half inch) sieve. 80-100% passing a #4 sieve. 0-35% passing a #50 sieve, and. 0-5% passing a #200 sieve. Proposals shall include a written sieve analysis from a reputable firm for the sand to be used. Any exceptions or alternates shall be noted on a separate sheet and attached to the response form. Sand may be subject to further testing by the Town or by a third party at the Town's expense. Total quantity requested will be delivered during a one (1) week period between Monday, October 17, 2022, and Friday, October 21, 2022, depending upon salt availability. No sand will be delivered during rain or snow events. The supplier agrees that the Town may purchase additional sand above the requested amount at the same price per delivered yard as the requested amount. All RFP submissions must include nine copies of the following information to be considered by the Town of Rangeley: Cover letter stating the companys interest in the RFP List of references (four minimum) Proof of insurability (one-million-dollar liability with the Town listed as additionally insured) A completed RFP Response page (included) The Town of Rangeley reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals.
