The Project consists of constructing pedestrian improvements at the intersection of N. Main Street and Center Street, including minor demolition, utility adjustments/relocations, sidewalk, curb ramps, curb and gutter, curb, driveway apron, asphalt mill and overlay, fine grading, traffic control, maintenance of traffic, traffic signage, pavement marking, and project supervision. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based upon the TOTAL BASE BID AMOUNT, as indicated in the Bid Form. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Contractors/consultants are encouraged to take all necessary and reasonable steps to ensure that DBE firms have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform services on contract, including participation in any subsequent supplement contracts. If the contractor/consultant intends to subcontract a portion of the services on the project, the contractor/consultant is encouraged to seek out and consider DBEs as potential Sub-contractors/sub-consultants. The contractor/Sub-contractor is encouraged to contact DBEs to solicit their interest, capability and qualifications. Any agreement between a contractor/consultant and a DBE whereby the DBE promises not to provide services to other contractors/consultants is prohibited.
