The work to be done under this Contract consists of, but not limited to, roadway reclamation, cold planning, resurfacing, crack filling, installation of hot mix asphalt curb, pavement markings and other incidental work necessary to complete the Project. The work also includes maintenance of traffic during construction, the maintenance of vehicular and pedestrian access to abutting properties, development and implementation of approved construction procedures for safe and efficient movement of traffic, and coordination of all proposed activities with other contractors working within the project limits. The work involves: Approximately 1.5 miles reconstruction and/or resurfacing of roadways relating thereto. All bidders shall be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to complete the proposed work prior to receiving the Contract Documents. The Contract Documents may be examined at the Engineer's office, 5 Millbury St., Auburn, MA, beginning August 24, 2022 between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM weekdays. Bid Security: A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond issued by a responsible Bank, Trust of Surety Company, payable to the Town of Auburn in an amount not less than of the total bid amount is required to be submitted with the bid. The subject project is being bid and constructed as a "public works" project and subject to the applicable provisions of MGL Ch. 30 Section 39M. There are no filed sub-bids for this project. Bidders must be able to demonstrate that all employees present at the worksite have successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour training course. Bidders must be able to demonstrate previous experience in work of similar nature and complexity and shall furnish all such information necessary for this purpose as the Town Engineer may request. The Town of Auburn reserves the right to accept any Bid or to reject any or all Bids if it deems it is in the best interest of the Town to do so. Commonwealth of Massachusetts's Minimum Wage Rates, in accordance with MGL Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive, are applicable.
