Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Chesapeake, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 141,340-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

This project constructs a new 2-story, 141,340 SF K-5 elementary school and associated site improvements in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake, Virginia (Culpeper Landing) which is being built for 960 students. The new school will be divided into three (3) wings connected by a main corridor. The wings will house separate “learning communities” divided by grade and are intended to infuse the feeling of a smaller more “neighborhood school”. The school will have enhanced security. The first floor includes administrative staff, cafeteria, gymnasium, music room, Central Commons, grades Pre-K / K, 2nd, and 4th, covered outdoor learning, and science. The second floor includes a Discovery Center, which includes the library and grades 1st, 3rd, and 5th. There will be two access points with buses entering from Big Bear Lane and parents/visitors entering from the north off Olmstead Street. The new school’s anticipated opening is for the 2027-2028 school year. Project is included City of Chesapeake Fiscal Year 2025-2029. As of September 11, 2025, per owner, construction underway.
