A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Bayfield County Wisconsin is seeking innovative and thoughtful development proposals for a 9.5 acre county owned parcel located at 901 E Bayfield Street, Washburn Wisconsin, tax ID #32578. The parcel includes frontage on Hwy. 13 and is accessible by public transportation with essential community services nearby. Proposals are due no later than Friday, September 16, 2022 at 1:00pm and submitted electronically to the contact listed in the RFP. This site is immediately adjacent to Northern Lights Services an assisted living and nursing home facility owned by Bayfield County and operated by Northern Lights Services, a non-profit. Independent living with supportive services for seniors is preferred for this site as senior housing is a critical need/in high demand in Bayfield County. The County envisions approximately 40-60 units of new construction either entirely senior living or a mix of senior, family and workforce housing. Northern Lights and Bayfield County Housing Authority have also expressed interest in potential collaborations for management and supportive services.
