Renovation of a power facility in Pierre, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
This project will involve the replacement of the high voltage disconnect switches in the 115kV and 230kV switchyards which includes 40 manual switches, 13 MODs, and 15 grounding switches. The steel switch supports will be re-used with new mounting plates added for mounting the new switches. The suspension insulators connecting the switches to the generator step-up transformers and transmission lines will also be replaced. The horizontal 1 1/2 " bus sections between the breakers and disconnect switches will be replaced with 3 1/2 " aluminum tubular bus. All vertical bus sections will be replaced with AAC (all aluminum conductor) cables. An inspection of the 230kV and 115kV switchyard aluminum main and auxiliary buses will be conducted with a total allowance in the bid documents of 60 inches of weld repair for deficiencies found. Feeder and control cables will be replaced for the new MODs. The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 730 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after solicitation issuance. Estimated Construction Costs: The estimated construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
