Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bithlo, Florida. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The purpose of this project is to increase roadway capacity and enhance safety along State Road (S.R.) 50 (Colonial Drive) from east of Chuluota Road (County Road (C.R.) 419) to S.R. 520 through Bithlo in Orange County. The roadway is experiencing significant congestion and future development indicates the need to widen the road from four to six lanes to serve the community’s needs. The project proposes to provide three lanes in each direction separated by a raised median. Full and directional median openings can be found at certain locations along the corridor. Safer accommodations for both bicycles and pedestrians will be included. Traffic and pedestrian signal upgrades at the C.R. 13 intersection will help enhance safety and operations. Drainage and lighting improvements are also planned. As of August 17, 2022, this project is in the conceptual phase. A design firm has been selected for the project.
