Site work for a development in Waubun, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a development.

Statement of Work Jasken Wetland Restoration Project Overview: This project will restore 5 wetlands by scraping out the sediment and either spoiling the material downstream, building a crossing, or filling in a drainage ditch with the material. The project site is located in Section 24, Lake Grove Township (T143N, R41W) Mahnomen County, Minnesota. Project Management: The property is privately owned by Nick Jasken. The project will be managed on-the-ground by Shawn May with the USFWS out of Detroit Lakes, MN. General Information Timeline for Project Completion: This project can start anytime and must be completed by 12-31-22. Because the water is high during the summer of 2022, this project can be done in the fall of 2022 to allow the site to dry as much as possible before digging. The contractor must maintain contact with the site manager relative to a planned start date and give at least a one-week notice before starting work. Once started, the project should be completed as quickly as is reasonably possible to limit the duration of site disturbance and to reduce the chance that weather events might cause undesired project delays or damage at vulnerable stages. If the project is not completed prior to the deadline due to contractor delays, the project may be re-bid for the following season or awarded to an alternate contractor on the original bid. Permits & Liabilities: The site manager will provide for any specific permissions or permits needed to do the work, should such issues arise. The contractor WILL be responsible for calling Gopher State One Call (1-800-252-1166) to identify any utilities BEFORE digging. The contractor is ultimately responsible for any liability resulting from damage by their equipment to any utilities. If the contractor or Gopher One identify any issues that would impact this project, the site manager must be informed immediately to help find a solution. The contractor is also liable for damage to any other property, infrastructure or personal injury on site due to accident or negligence and must carry the required insurance, as specified in the Request for Quote. Project Location & Access: See project map for more information. Directions: The project is located approximately 1/4 mile north of State Highway 113 on 210th Avenue which is also County Road 113. To access the site, follow the long driveway back to the east. Site Visit: If a contractor wants to visit the sites before bidding they may do so at any time. The site has not been staked. It is recommended that contractors contact the site manager regarding site visits and for detailed construction planning information. General Details Site Conditions: Currently, most of the construction areas are either wetland vegetation or water. All of the borrow material to build the crossing or fill in the ditch will come from within the wetland basin if the material is dry enough. Equipment: Ultimately, it is the job of the contractor to decide what equipment to use in a given situation and to obtain a desired outcome. However, it is recommended that a dozer be brought to the site to complete this project. Specific Project Details AFTER CONSTRUCTION, ALL DISTURBED AREAS MUST BE FREE OF DIRT CLUMPS, RUTS, HOLES, OR PILES. WETLAND #1 o Strip off wetland vegetation to get to clean dirt from an area south of the ditch. o Strip off the ditch area and bury the vegetation at the north end of the ditch. o Fill in the drainage ditch for approximately 150' to 6" higher than the natural ground level in order for water to not run over the ditch fill area WETLAND #2 o Construct an 18" deep sediment removal in the basin as indicated on the map. o An approximate estimate of 920 cubic yards of sediment will be removed. o Spoil all scrape material in the area north west of the wetland scrape and feather the spoil material to a natural grade. WETLAND #3 o Construct an 18" deep sediment removal in the basin. Note: the entire basin as indicated on the map will not be scraped. The line on the map shows a 1.7 acre wetland, but only the center 0.5 acres will be scraped. o Because only 0.5 acres will be scraped, the estimated amount of material is 1,000 cubic yards. o Spoil all scrape material in the area north west of the wetland scrape and feather the spoil material to a natural grade. WETLAND #4 o Construct a 24" deep sediment removal in the basin as indicated on the map. o An approximate estimate of 1,000 cubic yards of sediment will be removed. o Spoil all scrape material west of the wetland scrape and feather the spoil material to a natural grade. WETLAND #5 o Borrow material from within the wetland in order to make a crossing to access the field to the north. The entire wetland as indicated on the map will NOT be scraped out. The borrow area will require 10:1 slopes so it won't look like a 'hole". o The crossing will be approximately 100' long and have a flat top that is 10' wide. The slopes of the crossing will be 5:1. The top elevation of the flat crossing will be approximately 4' above the centerline of the ditch. Estimated material to build the crossing is 600 cubic yards.
